  <p>
    Since I was a kid I loved drawing. I loved studying the shapes of people and animals and would use that knowledge to improve my drawings. I loved comic strips, cartoons, and comic books. Storytelling has always been important to me. I used diaries to write all sorts of stories instead of my current events. These stories were special to me.
  </p>

  <p>
    In my high school years, I created a character that has stuck with me since. It has been my dream to make a graphic novel with this character. I've had this story brewing in my head for over a decade now.
  </p>

  <p>
    I struggle very much with anxiety, depression, focus, motivation. So this story kept getting put off. Every year I put this off, my heart breaks. I have tried breaking it down into simple pieces and it's still very difficult for me. I stopped being so hard on myself and have worked on my mental and physical health.
  </p>

  <p>
    At some point I took medical leave. That was when I started working towards Issue #1. Time has already passed since then. I've been back at work for about 2 years now. No Issue #1. But I have a script, and I have some thumbnails, and I have one page fully inked. I don't have nothing. That's more than I've ever had.
  </p>

  <p>
    I just have to keep going. I'm going to try again. My goal is Issue #1 by September. That's 1 year from now and I think that's a very attainable goal. I won't force myself to get it done sooner, but if I do, that will be amazing. That will be significant progress.
  </p>

  <p>
    Part of why I started this journal is so that I can track my progress on all my projects. I think I will beat myself up less if I can see that I'm moving forward. Moving slowly is better than not moving. That's the plan. If you go to my home screen and select comics, you can see a poster for this story on Global Comix. Ensemble Estates.
  </p>

  <p>
    I have to finish penciling Issue #1, then finish inking, then coloring. Along the way I must start writing the script for Issue #2. Then all the way to #10. Then start over at #1 again. That will make sense later.
  </p>

  <p>
    I hope you get to see what I've been working on. Until the next update.
